My gold nugget from today:
"Jesus said to him, 'have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?'
Jesus seeks more than anything else from us, is a CLOSE relationship. His goal is to do whatever it takes to bring us to where we can pour our hearts to Him in the same way that we would our own best friends on earth. It is a friendship that does not judge as being emotional if we constantly lay it out, expressing it in just the matter that we would anyone else... but rather He seeks to have compassion for us.
He does want to give us gifts,
both in the natural & supernatural.... He does want to save us from hell. He does want to heal our bodies. To move in such a dramatic way in demonstration of miracles, ect. I have definitely desired to be able to move in way that shows off His power. To lay hands on the sick, cast out devils, but He is saying to me.... There is more. The whole meaning of life? It comes down to relationship. He wants to walk with us, as friends.
I believe that is why people who have learned to pray well, that is, to pray with their heart on a sleeve, have gained the best gift of all -- personal communication.
I read this from a recent meeting in Arizona --
"I sat on the organ so long, I had backslid. I'm just being honest with you. The greatest place to lose your walk with God is sitting in the church somewhere, with your mind tied up and tangled up in religion and stuff, and all these do's and don'ts. But if you want to know Jesus, He is here."We've come so far, yet, to be honest, the church still doesn't know Him. I don't know Him. We're coming to a historic place, where the tides of evil are rising, and the waters are raging. America is getting change, but its not the good kind. The only way we are going to overcome, is to let ourselves be overcome by Him. We must seek Him on personal level.... If we could learn to run to Him, instead of other people, instead of the things that amuse us.... we will find Him, and who we are in Him.
It is great to be able to perform signs & wonders. To have miracles to the left and right of us. To know His Word.... but there will come a time, when the Bible is not enough to hold us, we will need to know THE Word Himself. We must seek communion. That is, common-union, humans & his Creator walking together as one.
